This two-person exhibition by Antoinette Wysocki and Jenny Reinhardt moves between three vantage points: landlocked, aerial, and that which can only be imagined. The aerial works drift through a blurred, ethereal geography, born from the longing to be somewhere else, somewhere that exists only in the romanticized version we carry in our minds. An airplane becomes a symbol of that longing, not as a destination, but as the instinct to exit a moment before it is finished. Against this restlessness, the landlocked works remain grounded, some dense with material and stubbornly present. They argue back: flight against root, escape against stillness, the future against the now. Together, the works occupy an in-between space, caught between where we are and the pull toward anywhere but here.<\/span><\/p>

ANTOINETTE WYSOCKI<\/strong><\/p>

In Wysocki\u2019s series, some works emerge organically, with drawing and painting rendered directly on rag, while others are constructed through deliberate layers of monotypes, pigments, and inks. Alongside these are a small photo series reflecting the ideas of wandering and roaming. Selected pieces are sealed in resin, preserving a moment while giving it a false perception of the natural. The plastic surface catches and refracts light, softening the image into something closer to memory than fact. Wysocki leans into the way nostalgia alters experience. It is never entirely accurate, but becomes glazed over and romanticized once the moment has passed. Her works hold that contradiction, the yearning to escape alongside the demand to remain present.<\/span><\/p>

JENNY REINHARDT<\/strong><\/p>

In preparing for Anywhere But Here, Reinhardt literally returns to her artistic roots: painting. In three works, she imagines herself sitting in her living room, physically grounded in the familiar while her mind wanders elsewhere. The paintings begin within the traditional frame, then spill beyond it, extending into parts unknown. The domestic feels stultifying, while the imagination is free to travel along undefined, loose paths in all directions. Reinhardt also continues her exploration of plastic, morphing her sculptural forms into prototypes for light fixtures. Stretching plastic into three dimensions and illuminating it from within, she pushes the material toward something more otherworldly.<\/span><\/p>

COLLABORATION<\/strong><\/p>

A highlight of the show is a collaborative work in which Wysocki and Reinhardt travel through the language of art to meet somewhere between their two practices. Wysocki\u2019s earthy monoprints of flora become the starting point. Reinhardt imagines their spores taking flight, moving beyond the printed image and into soft plastic sculptural form. What begins as something recognizable and rooted in nature drifts into something less certain, an invented form belonging to neither artist entirely, and to no known place.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
